Ján Fabián worked for 20 years in the state forest stud farm as a horse caretaker. He gained experience abroad, how agritourism works and built a new establishment on the foundations of the old barn in 2004 - an accommodation facility in the style of a farmyard, a restaurant and an inn - the Ranch Pod Ostrou Skalou. The ranch is located in a beautiful quiet location at the entrance to the Slovak Paradise National Park, one kilometer from the Dobšinská Ice Cave, which is on the UNESCO list of protected natural sites. It specializes in horse breeding and is focused on the support and conservation of species such as HUCUL and NORIK, as well as the breeding of warm-blooded horses used mainly for sports and agritourism.

Don't expect a rough wild western, but magical places where agritourism has found the perfect application. The beautiful environment guarantees that you will have a perfect rest here. The wild nature so captivates you with its power that you will not want to leave. Slovak Paradise is one of the most visited tourist areas, not only for hiking but also offers a number of cycling trails. The offer and development of services at the Ranch Pod Ostrou Skalou follows the current trend in tourism - a return to nature, learning about the rural way of life, prioritizing physical activity and sports activities. City dwellers are increasingly looking for opportunities to spend their free time away from civilization and modern technology. They are increasingly learning about traditions, folk crafts, participating in agricultural activities, or daily care of livestock. Mr. Fabián has a successor, the future of Ranch Pod Ostrou Skalou was taken over by his son Daniel. However, he remains to work on the ranch, because, as he says, there is still something to rework, finish and pass on the experience. He adds: "Clients keep coming back to us, which is a sign that I'm probably doing it well."
