DAY 1. The First Meeting and Acquaintance with a Boyko Family

Arrival at the ‘Boikivski Svitanky’ manor house of Ivanna Kuzeliak in the village of Novoshyn at the foot of Mount Lysa surrounded by mountain ranges. Meeting and a conversation with the hosts. Accommodation at the manor house. Dinner. Children will be able to get a new friend – the daughter Anhelina is always friendly and open to communication with young guests.

DAY 2. Immerse Yourself in Boyko Everyday Life

If you want, get up early, seeing, perhaps, your first dawn on Boyko land. Watch how the hostess will manage the household. Help feed the cattle or cook breakfast. Ivanka is always cheerful and full of energy. Do not be afraid of getting disappointed or being criticized for lack of housekeeping skills. Here everything is approached positively. Fresh dairy products for breakfast. Go to the log cabins of Novoshyn pine forest by the hosts’ UAZ car: a chance for the fun pastime accompanied by live incredible stories. Gathering forest herbs, picking up mushrooms, berries, depending on the season. Learn how these herbs and berries were once used in the practices of quacks. Relax in the UAZ car, which inside is equipped as a mini-house. Upon arrival, participate in packing of forest gifts together with the hostess: dried mushrooms from Ivanna Kuzeliak are regularly ordered by several expensive restaurants of Lviv. Lunch in the ancient Boyko house (1807), decorated in the old-fashioned manner, where you can spend the night. Rich lunch at an old table on benches. Arrange a photo session in Boyko clothes with a lecture on the creation of linen articles, the history of Boyko clothes, carefully collected by Ivanna from her Boyko acquaintances. Staying overnight in the house/Returning to the manor house, dinner and staying overnight.

DAY 3. A Journey through Ancient Forests by Unique Transport

Breakfast. A transfer to the stop of the Carpathian tram in the urban-type settlement of Vyhoda. Departure at 11.00, the train cannot wait. ‘At first we go through a wide valley of the largest river of the area – the Svicha. Moving along the riverbed, we go up and here we are already going past typical Boyko houses, looking at the fences and yards where cows, hens, geese and concerned about the strict mountain household local farmers wander… We pass the gentle mountain hills, which are becoming higher and higher, the amazing Shyrkovets Swamp and we enter the highland taiga – dense spruce forests that will lead us to healing springs, to Mizunskyi Waterfalls and even further and higher to the rocky mountains Gorgany… Clean air is our constant companion, from which sometimes we get dizzy’ (from the tourist guide Vyhoda, 2015, author of the text – Taras Prokhasko). The tram arrives at Vyhoda at 15.00. A transfer to Novoshyn. Sunday reception and exchange of impressions at the ‘Boikivski Svitanky’ manor house. Get delicious gifts (tea, berries from the hosts). Buy packages with selected porcini mushrooms, dried fruit, tea collections. Departure.
