  • Day 1: Telkibánya
Arrival in Telkibánya, lunch at Aranybánya Recreational Park. After lunch you’ll head to the forest! After some walk you’ll reach the entrance to Maria Mine, where the adventure starts. You will discover the narrow tunnels with a knowledgeable guide. József Bartók knows every secret of the mountain as he leads you down its depths with brave steps. You can learn about the secret of Telkibánya gold, meet the dwellers of the cave and experience complete silence and darkness. You will have your dinner at your accommodation at the village table of Zempléni Pitvaros Resthouse.

  • Day 2: Rozsnyó
After breakfast you’ll travel to Rozsnyó at a distance of 90 km. Sentinel Experience Centre there showcases the mining and metallurgical traditions of the region. Then you can get to know the Gothic cathedral of Rozsnyó, viewing its altar picture from 1511. In addition to the Biblical scene, its painter also depicted the life of the local miners in the background of the unique masterpiece. Before having lunch, you’ll first climb on top of the Renaissance watchtower, from where there’s a fine view of the glamorous bourgeois houses, the town hall, the episcopal palace, the Augustine cloister, the building of the former chamber of miners, the Evangelical church and many other interesting places. Then you will spend some time in the village of Csucsom, originally founded by German miners in the 14th century. The surroundings of the village are picturesque, which makes it a popular excursion spot. The peak of Pozsálló of 1293 metres soars above the settlement. A trip to Rozsnyó cannot be complete without tasting Kaltenecker beers: these famed, strongly seasonal beers are draught in many places from Kassa to Prague; you’ll taste the miners’ favourite drink in the guest room of the brewery. This is the oldest artisan brewery in Slovakia. Dinner at the most popular restaurant in Rozsnyó, at Három Rózsa, with a selection of seasonal local dishes.

  • Day 3: Telkibánya
After breakfast you’ll view the Ore and Mineral Mining Museum of Telkibánya, where spectacular models depict the work performed in the former mines. In addition to the period tools and the objects of industrial history, you can also find out about the characteristic minerals and ceramics of the region. A walk to the cemetery of wooden grave markers and then lunch at the restaurant of Ezüstfenyő Hotel.
