An intensive course focused on leather processing that you will get completely immersed in. Before you know it, you will have spent countless hours on your product and you won't know how. The premises of the Centre for Folk Art Production will enhance this experience even more. Here you will find everything you’ll need for your work - especially a skilled master who will certainly inspire, advise and encourage you to continue being creative.

Day 1: The Centre for Folk Art Production (ÚĽUV) is the right place to look for crafts and skilled craftsmen from all over Slovakia. Under the ÚĽUV brand, you will find truly original products of traditional crafts. Within these premises, you will most certainly enjoy our two-day intensive course during which you will learn everything you need to know about leather processing. The workshops will be conducted by Ján Ihnát, a craftsman representing the Zemplín traditions associated with the pastoral way of life. You will learn how shepherds braided whips and made leather objects for everyday use. Furthermore, you will leave the workshop with a souvenir you’ll make yourself - a hand-made leather satchel for small items. After work, you will have the opportunity to visit the current exhibition or buy more unique handcrafted souvenirs. Then you can explore the city of Košice on your own.

Day 2: The following day, you will continue working with your hands and making the leather satchel. As you will find out, this work requires patience and good hand-eye coordination. No need to worry, though, we are certain that you will be rightfully proud of your products under the supervision of an experienced craftsman.
