Spas is one of the largest and richest villages in Kolomyia district, it is located on the right bank of one of the most picturesque and famous rivers of Ukraine – the Prut, surrounded by forests, with many streams, meadows and fertile fields.

It is mostly inhabited by wealthy and self-sufficient owners, who believe that the reason for their success and prosperity is not only generous nature and a good geographical location but also the age-old housekeeping traditions dating back to the Neolithic Cucuteni–Trypillia culture. According to established archaeologists, people lived here more than 6000 years ago, that is from the second half of the 4th millennium BC, which indicates that Spas is one of the oldest villages in Europe, it is a must visit for connoisseurs of the past and lovers of cultural tourism.

  • DAY 1. Discovering of the Cucuteni-Trypillia Symbolism
Arrival at the Spas Trypillia estate. Dinner at the ancient mansion in beautiful nature near the forest. Dishes will be cooked in the Cucuteni-Trypillia oven. The vegetarians will be offered by meatless dishes based on cereals, berries and nuts. The visitors will be surrounded by things with Cucuteni-Trypillia ornaments, even the bench is decorated with space signs. One can get answers to questions about the connection between history and the life of the host who is a great narrator. Staying overnight.
  • DAY 2. One Day in the Neolithic Era amidst the Age-Old Forests of the Carpathians
Homemade products for simple breakfast. An hour of a forest walk. A journey deep into the forest to get acquainted with the place that is the border of the Trypillians’ settlement. An interpretive excursion will be made by the owner of the mansion. After returning from the forest and relaxation - a master class on the construction of Cucuteni-Trypillia housing. Lunch will take place in the open air in the wooden gazebo with dishes in clay pots from the oven. After lunch there will be some rest at the hay barrack covered with a lizhnyk (a thick rug of sheep’s wool) with Cucuteni-Trypillia ornaments. The day will end with a short lesson on creating an amulet in Cucuteni-Trypillia style. Try making a wooden Cucuteni-Trypillia spear and a bow with bone tips, wooden butts for flint and stone axes, learn to sharpen a scythe and knives with silicon. Free time.

  • DAY 3. Culinary Whims of the Trypillians
Breakfast at the estate. After relaxing in hammocks in the garden, there will be a master class on cooking lunch in the oven, created by analogy with Cucuteni-Trypillia ovens that were used outdoors. Learn how to cook ‘Spaska Zamashchinka’ from fish or meat. Similar dishes have been cooked since ancient times by some peoples of Africa and India. A master class on cooking ‘zamashchinka’ will take 2,5 hours till the full readiness of the dish. The heated oven will also allow visitors to cook ‘perevertannyky’ and ‘fasuliennyky’ (authentic dishes from potatoes and beans). The cooked dishes for lunch. Checking-out.
