Castle above the village of Vinné Handicrafts

Restoration of the castle with traditional crafts. Unique like you won't see anywhere else!

At the head of the Civic Association called Zemplínsko-užská hradná cesta, which is striving for restoration, is Jaroslav Gorás, a modern castle castellan. They have been working on the reconstruction since 2011 and are also assisted in their work by a self-made wooden treadwheel crane, which they use mainly in the repair of castle walls. There are a mason’s, a stonemason's, a blacksmith's, and a carpenter's workshops at the castle, where they work without any electricity. By preserving the remains of the castle buildings, the activists are trying to stop their further decay with the help of traditional crafts.

One new element at the castle dating from the end of the 13th century, which belonged to the Sztáray aristocratic family from Návštevníci si v ňom môžu prezrieť remeselné stroje a fotodokumentáciu desaťročnej starostlivosti o hrad, ako ju realizuje občianske združenie Zemplínsko-užská hradná cesta. Hradný kastelán Jaroslav Gorás pritom pripomína, že návštevníci si z hradu odnášajú nielen zážitok z historického prostredia či fantastického výhľadu, ale aj zo zapojenia sa do remeselnej činnosti – napríklad pletenia povrazov či ťahania priadze. Keďže najlepšou reklamou je dobrý zážitok, návštevnosť na hrade každým rokom narastá.
