  • Day 1: Mád – Regéc – Csonkás Farm
In Mád, you can get tuned to what it feels like when someone follows their own path and gets down to farming and food production. On the terrace of Bodnár Cheese Workshop, you can taste local products: the cheese made here and matching wines. In the afternoon you will get involved in the everyday work of Csonkás Farm. The family living on the farmstead deals with cattle breeding and beekeeping. You'll take an excursion to the pasture, where you can learn about herbs, and visit the areas of beekeeping and browsing during the trip. You'll prepare dinner together in a cauldron as a reward for the well done work. By the campfire, you can also hear stories about the wolf pack that lives in this region.

The estate of Farmer Sándor is a real self-sufficient farm. Be a farmer yourself for a day! You will learn how to scythe, how to make cheese, and you can learn the secrets of wild, edible and medicinal plants. There is poultry, cattle, and goats living on the farm and taking care of them daily means a constant task while it also turns off disturbing thoughts. Farmer Sándor and his wife, Erzsike, give us an insight into their own home and lifestyle. Their motto: "a passive house with active residents". Lunch and dinner on the estate together with the family.

After breakfast we’ll set out to Tokaj-Hegyalja Market, where you will find not only delicious local goods but you can hear interesting stories about career changes, farming, the connections between humans and animals, as well as organic life.
